Homework
Handwriting Homework
Handwriting homework will be given 1-2 times a week. One sheet for each letter of the alphabet. Your child should complete all homework in pencil. Your child will also get a first name sheet in the beginning of the year to practice writing their first name. Later in the year they will get the same sheet then including their last name in addition to the first name to practice.
Reading Homework
Literature Book
One night each week your child will bring home a Literature Book. This book is a story read in school as a class that is usually reinforcing a skill or concept we are learning in kindergarten. This is a story for you to read with your child at home to reinforce the story, better help with comprehension and reinforce concepts. These books must be returned the following day as as they circulate amongst the kindergarten throughout that week.

Guided Reading
Beginning in January, one night each week your child will bring home a Guided Reading book, which is a book geared to your child's reading level.
Reinforcement
Various Skills and Subjects
There will be times a homework sheet will be sent home to help reinforce additional concepts learned in school.
